It is my pleasure to send you this letter to let you know that we have taken big steps towards achieving our goals this fall.   We have developed a website (www.wydasudan.org) to inform people about the need for clean water in New Sudan and what we are doing to improve health, sanitation, and youth opportunities in my former home country.  Recently we have applied for 501(c) 3) status to IRS, and I am very excited to be planning a trip to New Sudan for the purpose of identifying the place for our first water system.  

  I am writing you this letter to keep you informed about our great progress and to ask for your assistance in helping to cover the cost of this important assessment trip to my homeland.   My plan is to assess the villages around Werkok in greatest need of clean water to help us determine our next steps in bringing clean water and hygiene to this area.  First hand research is necessary to do the best job possible so on this trip I will visit villages in the Bor region where Werkok is located. I will make connections with local people and then learn about methods for beginning our first water project in the region. I have good contacts including, family and relatives in the region that can assist me in learning about the needs of the villagers.

  WYDA currently has $1,800 in the bank and we need to raise another $2,000 in order to pay all the expenses of the trip.  The costs will include air fare, lodging, transportation, food, and other expenses. I am hoping that in your heart you will consider this request for assistance.  I realize that the economic situation is bad today, however your willingness, and generous kindness will help bring clean water to the poorest part of the world where even the simplest of daily needs are challenges to meet.
